All our staff are fully qualified, experienced teachers who have a proven track record of high quality teaching & excellent results within their GCSE classes.
The majority of our teachers are experienced Heads of Department or School Leaders who have led teaching teams to improve quality of teaching and exam results.
As with schools, we ensure all our staff have passed an enhanced CRB/DBS & List 99 check.
Helen Crabtree, Founding Director
Helen is a highly successful teacher who has used her experience to create GCSE Masterclass. Helen has been teaching for 20 years and in all that time, has only ever received the highest OFSTED grades for her teaching.
For 7 years, Helen was the Head of Key Stage 4 at the College of North West London. Whilst there, she transformed the department from being deemed “in need of improvement” by OFSTED, to having some of the highest results in the borough.
Whilst working as Head of English GCSE at the prestigious Oak House International School in Barcelona, results in Helen’s GCSE classes were the best the school had ever achieved. She continued to improve them year on year whilst in place.

Duone Minors
DJ is an experienced Science & Maths teacher. He is currently a Deputy Head of Science who was head-hunted due to his transformational effect in his previous school. DJ has a strong track record of improving student grades – many of his students joined us predicted grades 2 /3
Miro Jones-Hall
Qualified to Masters Degree Level, Miro specialises in 11+ tuition and Maths up to GCSE Level. She is an inspirational teacher with excellent 11+ pass rates and a track record of helping students significantly increase GCSE grades & confidence.
and went on to achieve grade 5/6. One student wrote that “DJ is the best teacher I have ever had – I would have lessons with him every day!” ( & this was a student who tough the hated maths!)
Zerin Glen-Hall
Zerin is a qualified English teacher with a passion for literature. Students and parents have been impressed by her clear explanations, positivity, excellent resources and ability to improve grades quickly.
Patrick McManus
Patrick is an experienced 11+ and Maths specialist, having tutored for several years & having attended Forest School & Cardiff University. Students love his positive, approachable manner & his ability to explain complex topics in an easy-to-understand way.
Verity Woolnough
Verity is a highly experienced English teacher having been Head of Department in a well-respected Catholic School for 10 years. In her time as Head of Department, GCSE grades increased year-on-year and she has the same transformational effect with her 1-1 students.
Walter Joerres
Walter is a well-respected teacher of Modern Foreign Languages who spent many years as Head of MFL in some of the best fee-paying schools in London. He is also a lead GCSE examiner – so his curriculum knowledge is second to none. Parents & students are impressed by his preparedness, clear guidance & resources.
